چکیده

The ground state energy dispersion curve of a single mobile hole in the two-dimensional t-J model is studied numerically by means of the Green function Monte Carlo method on square lattices of various sizes up to 16 16. Transient estimation results show evidence of a gap of the order of 0:2 t, in the physical region of the model, between the energy value at k = (=2; =2), which corresponds to the hole band absolute minimum, and k = (; 0).

N ov 1 99 9 Effective Field Theory of the Zero - Temperature Triangular - Lattice Antiferromagnet : A Monte Carlo Study

Using a Monte Carlo coarse-graining technique introduced by Binder et al., we have explicitly constructed the continuum field theory for the zerotemperature triangular Ising antiferromagnet. We verify the conjecture that this is a gaussian theory of the height variable in the interface representation of the spin model. We also measure the height-height correlation function and deduce the stiffn...

Hole Dynamics in a Quantum Antiferromagnet beyond the Retraceable Path Approximation

The one-hole spectral weight for two chains and two dimensional lattices is studied numerically using a new method of analysis of the spectral function within the Lanczos iteration scheme: the Lanczos spectra decoding method. This technique is applied to the t−Jz model for Jz → 0, directly in the infinite size lattice. By a careful investigation of the first 13 Lanczos steps and the first 26 on...

Evaluation of the performance of parallel-hole collimator for high resolution small animal SPECT: A Monte Carlo study

Introduction: Image quality and accuracy of in vivo activity quantification in SPECT are affected by collimator penetration and scatter components, especially in high energy imaging. These phenomena highly depend on the collimator characteristic and photon energy. The presence of penetrated and scattered photons from collimator in SPECT images degrades spatial resolution, contr...

Double-layer Heisenberg antiferromagnet at finite temperature: Brueckner theory and quantum Monte Carlo simulations

The double-layer Heisenberg antiferromagnet with intraand inter-layer couplings J and J⊥ exhibits a zero temperature quantum phase transition between a quantum disordered dimer phase for g > gc and a Neel phase with long range antiferromagnetic order for g < gc, where g = J⊥/J and gc ≈ 2.5. We consider the behavior of the system at finite temperature for g ≥ gc using two different and complemen...

Magnetic raman scattering in two-dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnets: Spectral shape anomaly and magnetostrictive effects.

We calculate the Raman spectrum of the two-dimensional (2D) spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet by exact diagonalization and quantum Monte Carlo techniques on clusters of up to 144 sites and, on a 16-site cluster, by considering the phonon-magnon interaction which leads to random fluctuations of the exchange integral. Results are in good agreement with experiments on various high-Tc precursors,...
